Local service business · Website & owner tools

Connect the first inquiry with the next follow-up.

A service business needs a clear way for customers to get in touch and a practical place for the owner to keep customer details and follow-up tasks.

The challenge

The public website and the owner’s daily work serve different needs. Homeowners need service information and a booking route; the owner needs searchable records, reminders, and a way to correct information without losing previous work.

The role

Website and owner-tool development for Ethan’s Pinnacle Plumbing business. This case study covers the software and customer journey; it does not imply a business endorsement or measured sales result.

How the work fits together

  1. Find help

Explain services and make calling or opening the booking page straightforward.

  2. Record

Let the authorized owner enter and search customer information.

  3. Follow up

Create customer-linked reminders, then complete or reopen them.

  4. Protect

Handle repeated saves, detect conflicting edits, and export records for recovery.

The decisions

Give homeowners a clear next step.

The public website combines service information, preparation guidance, direct call actions, and a Google Calendar booking link. Booking opens the business’s scheduling page.

Build around customer follow-up.

The owner desk supports customer search, corrected contact details and notes, and reminders that can be completed or reopened. Customer information stays behind owner authorization.

Treat uncertain saves as normal.

Repeated submissions with the same details reuse the original save request. Conflicting edits are rejected so an older screen cannot silently overwrite newer customer information.

Include a recovery path.

Record export and a full application-record backup are implemented. A separate restore rehearsal uses synthetic records to check that customer relationships and record counts survive the round trip.

What was delivered

A live service website with a booking handoff, plus an owner desk for customer records and reminders. Local workflow tests passed for saved records, corrections, reminder history, authorization, repeated saves, and backup rehearsal.

A signed-in owner read was recorded in the project’s acceptance notes. Production create-and-edit acceptance and an actual production backup rehearsal remain open. Booking is not automatically synchronized with the owner desk, and automatic customer messaging is not enabled.
